Introduction The WinSTACC training course provides practical instruction on the fundamentals and application of standard VDI 3781 Part 4 as well as the effective use of the PC program WinSTACC, which implements the guideline. Participants will gain both an overview of the theoretical and legal foundations and concrete guidance for the optimal use of the software in everyday work.

Background information on standard VDI 3781 Part 4 

This standard for determining chimney height ensures that the requirements of air pollution control are met for the unobstructed discharge of flue gases into the free air flow and for sufficient dilution of the exhaust gases. These requirements apply in particular to production or combustion exhaust gases from installations covered by the 1st BImSchV, 13th BImSchV, 17th BImSchV, 31st BImSchV, 44th BImSchV, and TA Luft.

Standard VDI 3781 Part 4 contains the specifications for calculating the required minimum height of exhaust gas discharge systems, as used for:

• Combustion plants
• Installations that release organic solvents (e.g. within the scope of the 31st BImSchV)
• Other pollutant-emitting installations
